Lake Washington Junior Kangs Football is a competitive, full-contact tackle football organization and the official feeder program for Lake Washington High School. Our football program exists to provide the opportunity to play football in the Kirkland community, to ensure that experience is as positive as possible, and to prepare the kids who play for a better future.

Serving 3rd-8th graders (7-year-olds who weigh at least 60 pounds can play with league approval and parental waiver) in Kirkland, WA and surrounding communities, the Junior Kangs compete in the Greater Eastside Junior Football Association (GEJFA), comprised of 14 member clubs. 

All coaches are interviewed, background screened, and certified on safety via the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). We employ the Atavus Tackle System, the foundation of which is a shoulder-led technique that focuses on making Near Shoulder contact to increase performance and player safety by removing the head from the tackle.
